Julie Watson has a long and proud history as a community advocate, small business owner, marketing consultant and client of PMZ Marketing.
Julie has a wealth of knowledge in both marketing concepts and business experience. She has previously held management positions in retail and hospitality, owned and operated several small businesses, including a surf shop, restaurant and fencing business, along with working in both global corporations and micro/small businesses. Having networked with many small business owners helping her to gain an understanding of their needs and challenges.
During her 27 years on the Central Coast, Julie has been on many sporting committees and Boards. She was on the board for the Child Abuse Prevention Service, the Vice President of the New South Wales Federation of Camera Clubs and she is currently the Secretary of the Executive Committee of the Interior Plantscape Association of Australia and New Zealand. She was the first ever female Rotarian at Wyong Rotary Club. She is a member of Wyong Regional Chamber of Commerce, The NSW Business Chamber and also The Entrance Surf Life Saving Club.
Julie will work with communities and individuals with a mandate to ensure total satisfaction for Coasties by means of her exceptional communication skills and ability to motivate the people around her.
Since moving to Toukley in 1990, Julie has been a renter and a ratepayer and has brought up a family on the Coast. Over 21 years ago, her Dad donated his kidney to her, giving her a new lease on life. When it comes to doctors, nurses, medication and our hospitals…She really gets it! She is now full of energy, healthy and highly motivated.
Julie is just as comfortable sharing a beer with you down at the pub, as she is chairing a conference or in the boardroom. People find her approachable, balanced and can relate because she’s walked in their shoes.
As an independent candidate, if elected, Julie will be your representative by advocating for issues across the collective community that is the entire Central Coast Region, with a focus on the interests of jobs for residents, businesses and start-ups, looking after our beautiful surroundings and lifestyle and promoting transparency through leading by example.
She is passionate about ensuring that Central Coast develops a ‘smart city’ mentality and has sound links within the Central Coast, Sydney and indeed the world’s vibrant start-up community.
With 37 years of small business experience and a marketing skill set she is in a unique position to both advocate and ‘sell’ the message in Council for the people of the Central Coast and will do so with honesty, integrity and transparency.
